The son of veteran Hong Kong artistes Patrick Tse and Deborah Li, Nicholas spent his formative years in Vancouver and Phoenix, Arizona. With an ambition to pursue a career in showbiz, he left school and spent a year in Tokyo to study various aspects of music and performance. On his return to Hong Kong, he signed his first record contract and subsequently released his debut album 'My Attitude' which reflected the true identity of a new generation. The album became a billboard hit and choice among the young fans.
Apart from being a popular singer, Nicholas is also one of the most promising actors of his generation. He has proven himself to be a box-office draw and a performer with considerable skills, winning the 'Best New Performer Award' at the '18th Hong Kong Film Awards' for his big screen debut in 'Young and Dangerous'. He has further starred in more motion pictures, including the big-budget film 'Chinese Hero' and the action drama 'Gen-X Cops'.
